OVER THE BORDER!
There are times in your life when you just think, "WOW! God!"
On Friday morning, at 6:30am, I set off from Coeur d'Alene for the Canadian border. When I got there, everything moved so smoothly, I knew God was there watching over me! In about half and hour, I had my "temporary visa" to be in Canada as a volunteer for 6 months and had filled out all the paperwork to "import" my belongings.
I was on my way into Canada!
It was so amazing to see how God had prompted me to take all the necessary steps and have all the paperwork I needed. He definitely "granted me favor" in the eyes of the border officers and the immigration officer! I demonstrated that I honestly wanted to honor the immigration system and found that they want to help me over the border!
I kept thinking of the verse in Psalm 37 (which has been on my tongue every day these last few weeks...)
"Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him and He shall bring it to pass."
For now,I am in Edmonton visiting friends and enjoying resting up! I am still arranging when to start volunteering with Wycliffe this coming week and am waiting to move into the place where I am staying in Three Hills with friends.
Please pray for Steven and I as we spend these next few weeks...
- house shopping in Linden, Alberta
- working in our respective areas
- balancing in time together and time with others
- working out wedding details little by little
I will keep you all updated as to what my latest status is with my volunteering with Wycliffe. I have pasted part of the letter Derryl wrote, describing what he is going to have working on... take a look!
