Walking Worthy
May these pages portray our desire to have "a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God." Colossians 1:10

Growth in the Winter
Winter is beginning.
In my life it seems to be a time of death, as well as new growth.
It is that time in my life when the struggles of my youth are being laid bare by the Word and chastening of the Father and new seeds are growing in my heart.
These last few weeks have held many challenges for me as I have come to face areas in my life that God wants to conform to His image. It is not an easy task, but I am glad that God cares enough about me to let me grow in this way. I have been learning...
* Accept rebuke and correction as for your benefit, for your growth, not as condemnation
....it's amazing what a difference it makes in my entire outlook when I stop perceiving instruction as evidence of "worthlessness" or "incompetence and failure." My mom just told me the other night that I have had such an attitude toward instruction ever since my childhood. She was so glad that I am finally at at place where I recognize how harmful it is for me to accept instruction as chastening, instead of strengthening.
* Humility is a daily, continual attitude, not a state that is attained. Daily battle Pride!
...This is a most difficult lesson to learn! It takes daily focus, continual meditation on the truth, a will to claim the victory that is mine and a trust in God's perfect nature.
Please pray that I will grow in the knowledge of God's grace daily as I apply these lessons.
That is my latest!
More later!
In His care,
Patti
