GOODSEED TERM Seminar Oct. 21-23

What is a TERM Seminar you may ask?
See http://www.goodseed.com/seminar.aspxfor a full explanation!
Basically, it is a seminar that teaches believers to use the book The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus as a tool introducing people to the core message of the Bible: salvation! GoodSeed hosts roughly 2 seminars per year in North America and Canada and then focuses the rest of its efforts on bringing the book and its evangelistic method to different countries and language groups around the world.

As a GoodSeed intern, I attended the seminar held here in Coeur d'Alene on October 21-23. Most of the GoodSeed staff and interns from the Canadian office (10 hours north) arrived to help teach and organize the seminar, so it was great to have the office in Idaho full! We had roughly 30 people from different states attend the seminar which included eating meals with us and hearing how the Stranger has been used to sow and reap in the kingdom! One person who attended testified about how the seminar impacted him:
"It helped me draw together a clear overview of
the Bible's message," and "reinforced the need to allow scripture to speak for itself." Better yet, "it ignited a fire for evangelism," and "has left me with an overwhelming sense of gratitude to Jesus!"

My Teaching Opportunity

As you know, I have been teaching through The Stranger with a young girl from the High School across from Cda Bible Church. When we reached the end of the study, she expressed that she understood the person and work of Jesus. It was good to see her simply place her faith in what Christ had done without any sense of having to "pay Him back" or "make Him Lord." (because, in all actuality, He already IS Lord of all creation - she just has to believe it and live under His authority.)

So, for the last week I've been leading her through the book of Acts using a curriculum that my supervisor (Russ) has written as a preliminary form of follow-up for The Stranger.

GOODSEED Bible Weekend Oct. 28-31

GoodSeed Staff and interns from Canada and the Southern states joined us for a weekend of ministry updates, Bible teaching and overall encouragement! It was amazing to see all the ways that God has inspired and empowered GoodSeed workers in pioneering new ways to share His message! Projects in the works include the following:
a video version of the book The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, a picture book of the children's version The Lamb, a Camp-oriented, condensed teaching outline of God's Creation to Christ plan as well as a radio version for South American and African language groups!

God also used the weekend to challenge me personally and whether I am CHOOSING to live in the light, with an attitude of thanksgiving and contentment in all situations - or whether I am choosing to live indulging a sinful, selfish nature from which I am FREED through the work of Christ! (Seems like a simple lesson, doesn't it? Well, some things take a lifetime to truly learn; I'm sure we can all testify to that!)

So, up to the present...

Today I am at the office after teaching the rest of Acts Chapter 2 to my student at the Church. Last night I had some car trouble and today, after entering the office, some other immediate prayer requests surfaced.

requests
Last night, I discovered that my car battery is being drained by some mysterious force which I believe I have pinpointed as having to do with my radio's wiring. But, needless to say, I need to get it worked out so that I don't have to jump start the car every morning.

Please Pray that the solution to this battery problem will be found and fixed easily at little cost, should this be God's plan. So many things can go easily wrong and I know that God can use ALL situations, but, you know, it is nice to be able to get around without worry

Today I discovered that the materials purchased for the CD production which I have been delegated to do are not the right kind and need to be returned. The design files for the CD labels are somehow missing from my hardisk and can't be found on the network. So, I need to make some more copies of The Stranger audiobook
www.goodseed.com/usa/audio/ but I can't without getting all this sorted
out!

Please Pray that I find the files so I can print the CD labels and find the invoice so I can return/reorder materials I need. In the meantime, pray that I will handle any orders that come for this product graciously.

joys
Since Corrie Bramsen has been visiting (an intern planning to come to Idaho in January who came for TERM and the Bible Camp) Chantal, Julie and I have hosted her and Rachel (GoodSeed staff) for supper a few times. Tonight we are all meeting at Rachel's house. Corrie is going to cook us a meal she grew up eating in Senegal! (Last week I had her and Rachel over and made them a Latvian meal, so we are sharing the cultural food fun!)
  • Praise God that I am enjoying such fellowship and God is truly blessing us in all ways!
  • Praise God that He has given just the support I need and is teaching me how to be a good steward of it.
  • Praise God that I am well in mind and body and spirit.
Well, that is all for now!

In His love, Patti

P.S. I've been thinking about FBC Ventura and praying for it! I will see you guys at Christmas!
